Custom Furniture in bedroom: A Golf Bag Locker Tall
Custom Furniture in a bedroom can solve the awkward problem of where the golf bag goes, and a tall locker built to the bag's full height keeps it upright, dry and out of the way. Golf gear is long, awkward and expensive, so leaning it in a corner is a poor plan that ends in bent clubs.
Why a golf bag needs a tall locker
A stand bag with driver fitted is about 1.2 to 1.3 metres tall. A normal wardrobe section is too short, so the bag gets shoved in sideways and the clubs take the hit. A dedicated tall locker respects the shape of the thing.
It also keeps the mud and grass off your clothes rail. After a rainy round at the range, the bag goes straight into its own ventilated slot, not onto the bedroom floor.
Where the locker fits in the bedroom
In a 4-room HDB (about 90 sqm), the master bedroom often has a short wall or a recess by the door that's perfect for a 40-centimetre-deep locker. A 5-room (around 110 sqm) might spare a corner of the walk-in or the study-bedroom.
Condo bedrooms follow the same logic, but check MCST rules before anything that touches a fire-rated wall or the boundary with a neighbour. Most internal lockers are fine; structural changes are not.
What we build into it
A good golf locker does more than stand there:
Full height. We build to the bag plus a head of clearance so nothing bends at the top.
Ventilation. Slatted back or side vents let damp gear dry instead of going musty between games.
Shoe and ball bay. A lower open shelf holds shoes and a ball bucket, so the kit stays together.
Adjustable divider. A movable rail keeps the bag from toppling when the door swings.
Custom Furniture that suits a golfer's routine
Custom Furniture for a golfer should match how often you play. Weekly players want fast access — we put the locker on the route from the door, not behind the bed. Occasional players can tuck it deeper and trade access for space.
We also size the depth to the bag. A tour bag needs more than a Sunday carry bag. Get this wrong and the door won't close. Measure the bag, not the brochure.
Materials that cope with gear
Golf bags are heavy and rough on surfaces:
Plywood takes the weight and the humidity without complaints. It's our default for tall lockers.

Laminate on the inside face resists scuffs from club heads and wipes clean.
MDF is fine for the carcass if kept dry, but the base should be plywood where the bag sits.
Solid wood looks smart and lasts, at a higher price and with more climate care.
Cost, timeline and approvals
A tall golf locker runs roughly S$1,200 to S$2,800, depending on height, ventilation and finish. Inside a full reno of S$30k to S$70k, it's a modest line item.
From measure to install, budget about 6 to 10 weeks. HDB work includes a one-year defect liability period, so a misaligned door or loose shelf in the first year gets fixed under that cover.
Care and resale note
Wipe the base after muddy rounds and check the ventilation path now and then. A blocked vent just means a damp bag next time.
At resale, a tall locker reads as a hobby built-in — useful to a golfer, easy enough for anyone to repurpose as a broom or sports cupboard. Keep the finish neutral and it won't count against you.
The simple fix for a golf bag is a locker built to its real height. Stand it up, vent it, give the shoes a shelf, and the clubs last longer and the bedroom stays calm. It's one of those small builds that pays back every weekend.
